Every living thing has a physical body. It is the densest layer of the human energy system - it is the only one we can "see" and it is how we are able to physically experience our reality. Because we can easily perceive it through our senses, we all understand and accept that we have a physical body.

Beyond physical energy, there exist many layers of 'subtle' energies That make up our 'aura,' aka our energetic blueprint. These layers include the mental, emotional, and astral body. These energy layers hold aspects of our personality, cultural heritage, family, memories, thoughts, beliefs, pain, injuries, trauma, and all facets of our bodies. They are woven into the tapestry of who we are. while they exist independent of one other, if one layer is out of balance, you will experience disharmony in both the energetic and physical body .

Throughout our lives, we experience many levels of trauma that alter our self-image, as well as our beliefs about reality. In in effort  to cope, many of us subconsciously repress painful events from our past, numbing ourselves as a form of self preservation. However, these unhealed traumas and repressed emotions never actually leave us, and  are stored on a cellular level. They are continually "behind the wheel" of our subconscious mind. Without our awareness, these "Forgotten" traumas are the driving force in our life - recreating painful cycles begging to be  released so we can be restored to our original state of balance . All dis-ease begins on an energetic level. If left unseen, this energetic disharmony will eventually manifest as physical/emotional/mental dis-ease.

Energy work aims to clear blockages that accumulate in the etheric/Auric Field. It is a gentle. non invasive, holistic approach to healing that embraces and connects body, mind and spirit.

Energy work addresses the etheric body, our energetic  blueprint. This is the storehouse of our subconscious mind. OUR THOUGHTS CREATE OUR REALITY. Our outer physical realities are a reflection of our inner energetic reality.

Reiki is a Japanese form of Energy Healing used for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" (Ki, Chi, Prana, flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being energized, happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki is a very specific form of energy healing, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.” According to many versions of its origin, Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, brought the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922 after a deep spiritual experience. He is said to have begun teaching others after a serious earthquake hit Japan and he felt urged to spread his knowledge.

In a Reiki session, the practitioner is seeking to transmit Universal Life Energy to the client. The intention is to create deep relaxation, balance the chakras, to help speed healing process, reduce pain and stress, and decrease other negative symptoms a person receiving may be experiencing.

Reiki is a form of complementary health care practice, which enhances the body's ability to heal itself.
